Raw and Green Potatoes

Potatoes are safe for dogs to eat if they are properly prepared and cooked, but raw, unripe potatoes and other parts of the potato plant can be highly toxic to dogs and humans alike. Keep an eye on your pooch if you’re out in the garden. We’ve all seen a playful dog pick up something that’s like a ball (but isn’t actually a ball) trying to provoke some play. If the dog does this and eats the wrong raw vegetable it’s dangerous.

Depending on the amount consumed, raw green potatoes are not deadly like some other items on our list, but if a dog eats too much – and remember, that can vary a great deal depending on the dog’s body weight – he may have nausea, vomiting, seizures, and in extreme cases, even heart irregularities!

Apricots

Apricots can be dangerous for dogs in a similar way to cherries. The flesh of the fruit is safe for dogs to eat in small amounts, but other parts of the plant, especially the stone or pit can be harmful.

The stems and leaves of apricots can be toxic to dogs and humans because they contain compounds called cyanogenic glycosides (cyanide). It can provoke respiratory problems that lead to death in more severe cases. Avoid feeding apricots to your dog at all and stick to doggie treats and that will help avoid the dog associating apricots with eating.

Next is another very common vegetable that can cause some severe problems for dogs:
